Lieutenant Governor Anita Ruth Neville is receiving the Sol Kanee Distinguished Community Service Medal at the Jewish Federation of Winnipeg’s Kavod Awards. Neville was appointed in 2022 by former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to be lieutenant Governor and is richly deserving of this distinction. Neville, a former Member of Parliament held the Winnipeg South Centre seat for the Liberals from 2000-2011 and made history by becoming the first Jewish Lieutenant Governor in the Province.
