World Zionist Congress Elections
Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote in the Canadian Zionist Federation election for delegates to the 39th World Zionist Congress.
This was the first time in decades that we have had an election for delegates, and we feel that it was a successful effort, and many more people now know about the World Zionist Organisation and MERCAZ-Canada.
MERCAZ-Canada was able to secure 3 of the 19 available delegate seats at the Congress. We will be sending our President, Nola Lazar, our Executive Director Rabbi Sean Gorman and our Board Member Rabbi Steven Wernick as our delegates to the Congress.
We are very excited to attend the Congress and meet with our colleagues from around the World! We look forward to the opportunity to discuss and vote on policy and make sure that we represent you, our members to the best of our abilities to ensure that Israel remains a democratic, progressive and inclusive society. The Congress takes place October 28-30, 2025. We will report back to you then and tell you all about our experiences.
