Bob Freedman, who will soon be celebrating his 26th year as the CEO of the Jewish Federation of Winipeg has just been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority.
He has already attended his first board meeting. When asked how it was, he said "interesting." (Editor's note: I bet)
Freedman is also sitting on the budget committee of the WHRA Board.
If you want to see who else is on the Board of the WHRA with Freedman, click here: http://www.wrha.mb.ca/about/board/members.php.
Suffice it to say that Freedman is the only one on the Board of the WHRA who has a kosher kitchen at home.
When asked if this means that Freedman may hear a thing or two about the Simkin Centre in his capacity as a Board Member of the WHRA, he said he imagines that he will.
The Minister of Health appoints each Board member of the WHRA.
According to the Board's website, "The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority views the people of Winnipeg and others who depend on its services as its stakeholders.
"The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority seeks to maximize the health system's contribution to the health, social and economic well being of Winnipeg residents and others it serves."
